Healing
the Pranic way
Neighbourhood Flash, August 15 - 21, 1999
Pranic
Healing is a comprehensive system of natural healing
techniques that utilizes prana to treat various illness.
Prana in Sanskrit means "life force", the
bio-energy that keeps the body alive and maintains a
state of good health. An art and science, Pranic Healing
was widely practiced by ancient civilizations of china,
Egypt and India. Currently this technique is being taught
to doctors, massage therapists, acupuncturists, chiropractors
and others in the healing field.
Said to
be easy and quick, the system rests on the hypothesis
that there are energy centres called chakra on the palms
of the hands. These chakras are activated by simple
exercises. Once activated, they become sensitive to
feel an individual's energy and can scan this energy
field to locate blockages so as to be able to cleanse,
energize and revitalize the area with the new prana.
It also teaches to stop the drain of energy on the body
many health practitioners experience while working on
others. Master Choa Kok Sui, a Filipino has been instrumental
in spreading Prana Healing. The healing as taught by
him is a holistic health-care system that heals consciously
and transforms with a simple-to-learn method. It works
on the principle that the condition of the aura or subtle
energy field of man creates either health or disharmony
and disease in the corresponding body system. This means
that physical, emotional and mental ailments are but
manifestations of vital life energy imbalances in the
aura and the energy centres. The method is non-invasive
and requires no physical contact.
Based on
many experiments Master Choa Kok Sui has synthesized
traditional healing and meditation techniques into contemporary
science. Founded in 1988, the Institute for Inner Studies
in Manila has worked for bringing Pranic Healing to
every continent with the establishment of Pranic Healing
Centres in more than 45 countries. Working in parallel,
the Foundation for Pranic Healing operates in the Third
World Countries.
The Andhra
Pradesh Pranic Healing Foundation launched a web site
on Pranic healing on Tuesday at New Delhi. Speaking
on this occasion, the director and Co-founder of Iridium
Interactive, Sriram Bharatam said, www.pranichealing.org
is one of the most comprehensive websites on the net.
He also said that, his team has spent about 2 months
time researching the theme before they actually went
ahead with designing the site. In the next phase, he
said, there is going to be lot interactivity being built
in the site which will help in building the Online community
of pranic healers across the globe.
